My name is Alethea Tucker and I am an Elite Obstacle Course Racer. My goal is simple: to become the best OCR athlete I can be. While I am an athlete, I am also a registered nurse who works 2 jobs and has 2 children. I want to be a good role model for my children, as well as others, to never give up on your dreams! Since my first race in 2014, I have improved with every race. I am dedicated to training and getting a podium finish. In April 2015, I completed a Battlefrog, my 6th OCR, and came in 3rd for my age division. I’m so dedicated and committed, that even though I fractured my ankle in May 2015, I still completed a 9.5 mile Spartan Race up Black Mountain, NC just a few weeks later. In October I came in 20th out of 1188 females, placing in the top 8% at the Atlanta Spartan race. In November I came in 2nd place at Battlefrog Xtreme by less than a second. Every race, I get better. I also came in 2nd place at Battlefrog Xtreme in Atlanta in March this year. Just this weekend I did my first 50k, and came in 5th in my age group and 13th overall female! I started a blog www.musclesmudandmascara.com about my race experiences and training. I also am a founder of a team called Soldiers of Sparta that has grown to over 1090 members from across the U.S. in just 6 short months and is still growing. I have the opportunity to go to China and be one of maybe only 5 women in the world to compete in a 3-day endurance event called the Spartan Agoge. This is a physical and mental endurance event that is a once in a lifetime event being held on the Great Wall of China. I am struggling coming up with the plane ticket cost, which isn't much...but unfortunately is more than I can afford. The cost of the plane ticket as of today is $750 round trip. Your support is very much appreciated!
