@joannmicik19244 years agoVery interesting about the underplanting with salvia. I will definitely try that. I am in Pennsylvania, USA, very hot humid summers often with little rainfall. Black spot is devastating here unless you spray, which I don't like to do. I grow species roses which are immune, but struggle to grow any other roses. Thanks for the very informative video! ...1

@CyprusLenny554 years agoHi Sarah, just like James and Paul below you are very knowledgeable on everything and you explain it all so easily. I have two rose bushes in my garden here in Cyprus and in summer they enhance the Frangipani trees I have, they shoot up over the top and with the big leaves of the Frangipani they look awesome. I have no idea what roses they are, one is dark Crimson and the other pale yellow, I will take a photo when they shoot up. Your videos are magic. ...

@1Thedairy4 years agoI have that ‘Julia’s Rose’ in the garden I inherited and I loved it but struggled to find out what it was called. Was there a dispute about what name it should be given? Only in the last year has it suddenly become more popular. It looks very vintage to me but doesn’t flower prolifically in my garden. Looks wonderful with the dark purple Sambucus behind it. ...2

@jennycollard11734 years agoI have grown the hot chocolate rose for a couple of years, but it does struggle with black spot. I have been super careful to keep well watered this year (home a lot!) but it’s still suffering on older growth. Do you have any tips? I do have a few salvias in my garden, near, but not directly under the rose so I can definitely try that tip. I chose my particular rose when it was in bloom, so I would hate to dig it up. I have thought about taking cuttings to maintain the particular flower and start with a new plant again but am not sure if cuttings would be systematically infected? ...4
