Kuwaiti women achieved another historical milestone on Sunday by winning their first ever seats in the oil-rich Gulf state's parliament, with four women elected according to official results. Massuma al-Mubarak even won more votes than any other candidate in her constituency. Sixteen women stood among the 210 candidates in the running for the election. It's the third time that women have stood for parliament since receiving the right to vote in 2005. None were elected in the two previous ballots in 2006 and 2008.
