The HOT START Megawad | Bourgeois, Part 1

Playing this cross-handed? Well, there's another thing to add to the list of chat VS streamer punishments! These short maps were a lot of fun to play, despite no being tremendously difficult. Saves were not necessary at all, which means that my original plan to use the Wheel of Torment to save my game did not make sense here. I might have a different goal for the Wheel on Part 2, however... Anyway, this is the Bourgeois Megawad, a collection of 30 maps designed for both deathmatch and single player, with a non-linear level design and a moderate difficulty. All the maps end with a death-exit, so every map has a forced pistol start. This means that the hardest challenge is usually surviving the hot start in the very first room. After killing the first horde, most likely the map is close to being finished. I feel these maps are accessible to any kind of player, and although the hardcore doom veterans might find this rather easy, I still feel it is very fun to play. Almost all of the weapons have been tweaked; the pistol is now a auto-rifle, most of the weapons have been buffed to fire faster except for the SSG that was unchanged, and the BFG that now uses TWICE the ammo! This weapon balance was designed for multiplayer, but I feel it fits single-player quite nicely. Streamed live on Twitch.
