Hi, this video shows you how to use a wired Ethernet Network connection on your Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod. This might be useful if the Wi-Fi has stopped working on your device or if you want a quicker more stable connection for gaming or downloading. You will need to buy 2 adapters to make it work. I hadn't realised that I needed a charger with a higher ampere - I'd used the one with the lower output. It's fine for charging, but not for the Ethernet connection. I'm so grateful for this video! ...

I’ve decided to connect my iPhone and iPad to my router or modem to see if I can get a better connection. I live in a rural area and I’m getting frustrated with my satellite Internet connection. So I’m going to try and use it wired instead of Wi-Fi. If that doesn’t work, I might buy a Wi-Fi booster. But if this works I can use it at home where I need it. Thanks for sharing. @quiverytoast4 years ago Great video! Do you know if it is possible to connect an Ethernet cable + a usb audio interface at the same time? I currently connect a usb audio interface to my iPhone using the usb camera adapter + a powered usb hub. This works fine. Ideally however, I also want to connect to the router by connecting an Ethernet adapter into the usb hub. This way I can use both the audio interface whilst also having the benefits of a hardwired internet connection. Will all this work? My main concern is whether the iPhone can actually handle more than one usb input? Hope that all makes sense and would really appreciate some advice before I go and invest in an Ethernet adapter and a long Ethernet cable! Thanks! ...

@silverwess6 years ago this is a perfect solution for Kiosks and generally lounging areas of the house that you could benefit from improved connectivity. Also one might for an iPhone enable "WiFi Calling" however as the name implies it may require it to be on "WiFi" though I bet it only needs a network connection. That would be worth checking out. ...

The only obvious difference is that I am using an iPhone 4S with a 30-pin connector and a lightning to 30-pin adapter. I have tested every bit that I can but when I connect the UGreen USB 2.0 network adaptor I am not getting a message about the power requirement. The lights don't come on either.
My question is in your case do the network adapter lights come on when you connect it? Mine don't. I'm charging the Camera adapter from my MacBook Pro USB.
I shall try this on a later model iPhone if I can borrow one! ...

I understand in the video explanation that the WiFi or data comes from the internet provider where you paid for and gives full internet access. My case is different: the laptop has WiFi from an USB dongle that is placed on the wall outside and connected to the laptop with an 5 meter power USB repeater Cable. The WiFi I get free from the environment and deliver 115 Mbps. Besides the WiFi I receive in house via external usb is it not possible to get WiFi for the 2 iPhones in use. Therefore is paid for 1 phone monthly fees for DATA. The second iPhone get data via TetherMe. Question.... As I have watching with much interest your video explanation, is it also possible that the Ethernet cable added on the laptop will sees the external WiFi and to be understand, not the WiFi from an router as it is in your documentary? Last, why is closed Airplane Mode? The highlights.. The two iPhones can not profit of the WiFi I received on the laptop via the USB dongle. It would be great to find a way on the iPhones and hope that what I saw in your explanation it is the workout I need to go for. Luc ...
