Authentic Iyengar style Puliyogare | Temple style puliyogare | The Bhojan House

Hello people, This video shows you how you can make Authentic Iyengar style Puliyogare. Ingredients: 1. Rasam Powder - 4-5tbsp 2. Roasted black sesame seeds powder - 4-5 tbsp 3. Jaggery - 120g 4. Shredded dry coconut - 1/4 cup 5. Ground nuts - 1/4th 6. Curry leaves - 10-15 7. Cashew nuts - 10-15 8. Dry red chilies - 4 9. Asafoetida - a pinch 10. Tamarind - 1 big lemon sized 11. Vegetable oil - 5-6 tbsp 12. Salt - taste 13. Cooked white rice - 1 cup 14. Mustard seds - 1 tbsp 15. Split chickpea - 1 tbsp 16. Turmeric - 1 tsp Method: 1. Soak tamarind in warm water for 2-3 hours. Squeeze the juice out of tamarind and add all of that to the hot pan. Once it starts boiling, add Jaggery and salt and let it thicken. When this mixture starts boiling, add 2-3 tbsp of rasam powder. Add 2-3tbsps of oil. Once it gets paste like consistency, turn the flame off. Tamarind gojju is ready. 2. For tempering, add 3 tbsp of oil into a pan. Once it is hot enough, add a tbsp of mustard seeds. Once it crackles, add a tbsp of split chickpeas, ground nuts, cashew nuts, chilies and curry leaves. Once they are fried properly, add turmeric. The raw smell of turmeric vanishes. Add rice at this point and about 2-3 tbsp of the prepared gojju. Mix it well. Add salt as needed, 2-3 tbsp of rasam powder, 3 tbsp of sesame seeds powder and the shredded dry coconut and mix it well. Our puliyogare is ready to serve.
